Imports of electric vehicles to Ukraine increased by almost 30%

In the first quarter of 2025, 20,100 passenger electric vehicles (BEVs) were imported into Ukraine. This is almost 30% more compared to the same period in 2024, informs Ukravtoprom with reference to the data of the State Statistics Service.
The total customs value of imported cars amounted to $355.5 million. Of this number, 4,400 units were new (up 12%) and 15,700 were used (up 39%). The largest share of new electric cars — 93% — came from China. Among used cars, the USA remains the leader in imports: this country accounts for 38% of deliveries in the corresponding segment.
In April 2025, Ukrainians purchased 1,256 cars from China, which is 8% more than in April of the previous year. Of them, 1,033 cars were new, which is 22% higher than in 2024. At the same time, sales of used cars decreased by 30% and amounted to 223 units. In total, 82% of all cars imported from China in April were electric, which confirms the constant interest of Ukrainian consumers in ecological transport.
Among new cars from China, BYD Song Plus became the most popular, 179 such cars were registered. The second largest was the Volkswagen ID.Unyx model with 153 units. Audi Q4 e-tron took third place with 75 registrations. It is followed by Zeekr 001 with 63 cars and Zeekr 7X with 43 units.
Zeekr 001 leads among used cars with 39 registered cars. It is followed by MG ZS — 19 units, Zeekr 7X — 17, Polestar 2 — 11 and Buick Envision — 10 cars.
