In 2024, Ukrainians demonstrated significant activity in the field of financial transfers. By data of the National Bank of Ukraine, the total number of transactions within the country exceeded 3.6 billion, including credit and debit transactions.

During the year, 62 banks and 2 non-bank financial institutions provided services for conducting such operations. Of the two main types of transfers, credit transfers became the most common, of which 3,619.6 million were executed for a total amount of 43,115.15 billion hryvnias. In comparison, there were only 1.7 million direct debit transactions worth 31.2 billion hryvnias.

The analysis of internal transfers shows that individuals carried out the majority of transactions — 3,101.5 million (85.7% of the total amount), but the main part of funds was transferred by businesses — 39,260.91 billion hryvnias (91.1% of the total amount). This reflects traditional financial behavior: citizens make numerous but relatively small transfers, while companies handle much larger amounts with fewer transactions.

As for international transfers, Ukraine received 5.7 million credit transfers for a total amount of 69.27 billion dollars equivalent. Most of the funds went to individuals (58.6% by number), but business dominated by the volume of financial flows — 65.21 billion dollars (94.1%). The main sources of income were the countries of the European Union (44.97%), Switzerland (21.71%) and the USA (11.88%).
