In August, local budgets received more than 10 billion hryvnias from the Ministry of Finance
According to the results of August 2024, local budgets received UAH 10.6 billion in the form of interbudgetary transfers from the state budget. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Finance.
“In August 2024, the Ministry of Finance, in accordance with the budget legislation, ensured the transfer of interbudgetary transfers to local budgets in the amount of UAH 10.6 billion, which is 107.1% of the allocations provided for in the schedule of appropriations in August,” the message says.
Among the listed funds:
- the basic subsidy amounted to UAH 1.8 billion, which corresponds to 100% of the planned amount;
- additional subsidies amounted to UAH 0.8 billion, or 99.9% of the planned volumes.
As of September 1, 2024, the balances on the accounts of local budgets and budget institutions kept in the general and special funds amounted to UAH 180.4 billion. This indicator indicates an increase of UAH 6.6 billion compared to August 1. Such an increase may be associated with the effective distribution of financial resources between regions, as well as with additional revenues from the state in the form of interbudgetary transfers and subsidies. Increased balances can be used to finance important local projects, social programs, infrastructure development and support of budget institutions.
It is worth noting that in July 2024, local budgets also received substantial financial support from the state budget — UAH 12.8 billion in the form of transfers. These funds were directed to support the key areas of development of the regions, as well as to cover the financing needs of social and infrastructure projects. Such significant sums of transfers testify to the stable fulfillment of the state’s financial obligations to local communities, which helps to ensure the appropriate level of budgetary support at the local level and support their ability to implement initiatives important to the population.
