According to the evidence base of the Security Service of Ukraine, almost 470 fake certificates of disability, which were issued en masse by officials of the Kharkiv Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEK), were canceled. About this informs SBU press office.
The Security Service of Ukraine collected the evidence base, on the basis of which 470 forged medical certificates issued to men of military age in the Kharkiv region were annulled. This was the result of the disclosure of a large-scale corruption scheme organized by officials of the regional MSEK.
The head of the regional commission and doctors of local medical institutions were suspected. As the investigation found out, for bribes from 2 to 5 thousand US dollars, those involved issued fictitious documents on disability, which allowed conscripts to receive “armor” and use state social benefits.
In addition to canceling forged certificates, the SBU, together with the Pension Fund, stopped the payment of illegally issued pensions. Thanks to operational measures, it was possible to prevent monthly state losses of more than 2.4 million hryvnias.
On the basis of new evidence, SBU investigators reported the suspicion to the head of the MSEK and seven more of his accomplices under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. All the participants of the criminal scheme are in custody, and the question of additional qualification of their actions is being considered in relation to five more participants.
