Police said a 53-year-old man was behind the wheel and was arrested at the scene. Currently, the case is not classified as a terrorist attack, and according to law enforcement officers, he was the only person involved in the incident.
According to the medical service, 27 people were hospitalized, two of them, including a child, were seriously injured. Another 20 victims, including four children, were treated on the spot and did not require hospitalization. The fire and rescue service reported that four people, including a child, were trapped under the car. The rescuers had to lift the vehicle to free the victims. In addition, a paramedic who was on a bicycle at the time of the incident received minor injuries.
