In Spain, there was an explosion at an ammunition factory, injuring 6 people

In Spain, a powerful explosion occurred at the plant of the German defense concern Rheinmetall in the province of Murcia, as a result of which 6 people were injured. About this informs WHICH.

The incident occurred at the warehouse of the enterprise where explosives were stored. The incident also sparked a forest fire in an industrial area that spread over 2,000 square meters before it was extinguished.

As a result of the explosion, six workers aged between 30 and 52 were injured. One of them, a 52-year-old man, suffered a head injury. Five victims were hospitalized, one more received medical assistance on the spot. The causes of the explosion are currently being investigated.

The plant where the incident took place belongs to Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, a division of the German defense concern. The enterprise specializes in the production of artillery ammunition, mortar shells, medium-caliber shells, as well as detonators and rocket propulsion systems.

Rheinmetall has 7 factories in Spain and the USA and supplies weapons to more than 60 countries. Ukraine is currently one of its largest clients.
