In the Sumy region, a children’s center caught fire due to the fall of the Shahed

A fire broke out on the territory of the children’s health center in the Sumy community due to the fall of fragments of the Russian kamikaze drone “Shakhed”. According to preliminary information, it was the explosive fragments that caused the fire inside the facility. About this reported in the Sumy regional military administration.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties as a result of the explosion. Rescuers and emergency services were working at the scene to deal with the consequences of the attack. An assessment of the damage and security in the area is currently underway. The local authorities appeal to the residents to be attentive and to respond promptly to air warning signals.

Russian troops also carried out a large-scale shelling of the border areas of Sumy Oblast, which included 68 attacks with a total of 143 explosions. Sumy, Khotyn, Yunakiv, Myropil and Krasnopil communities were the most affected.

According to the OVA, the shelling was carried out using mortars, FPV drones and the dropping of VOG from drones. In particular, a bus was damaged in the Myropil community during an FPV drone attack, as a result of which two civilians were injured. In addition, in the Sumy community, the debris of the drone damaged a private house. Emergency services are working at the scene to determine the extent of the damage.
