Russian troops are trying to advance as much as possible in the Zaporizhzhia region, and with the beginning of spring, the number of assaults in this direction has noticeably increased. About this reported spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

“The military and political leadership of the Russian Federation has never hidden that our south, in particular the Zaporizhia region, is in the sphere of their geopolitical interests. Therefore, we can say that before any negotiation processes regarding a cease-fire, regarding the establishment of different regimes, a cease-fire begin, the Russians want to gain as much of such a head start as possible, to advance as far as possible in the Zaporizhia region, if they have the opportunity, even to reach the administrative borders region

This is one of the reasons why the situation in the south of Ukraine, and in particular in the Zaporozhye areas, is starting to get a little worse.” Voloshyn said on the air of the telethon.

According to him, Russia has concentrated a certain amount of manpower and equipment on these areas of the front, but not for a large-scale strategic offensive, but for the purpose of conducting local assaults by small infantry groups.

“The tactics of using these small groups bring a certain result to Russia in other directions, so they will try to apply these tactics of creeping attack, assaults by small groups of infantry in the Zaporozhye directions as well. We are talking about the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions.”, – emphasized Voloshyn.
