In Ukraine, the range of persons who can receive payments in the event of the death of a military member has been expanded

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision to expand the list of persons who have the right to receive one-time monetary assistance in the event of the death of military personnel and police officers.
About this reported representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
According to the new changes, the right to receive payments is now also available to:
- Civil partners: women or men who lived with a military serviceman or policeman in the same family without official marriage registration.
- Grandchildren: grandchildren of a deceased (deceased) military or police officer, if their parents are deceased.
- Posthumous children: children born after the death of a serviceman or police officer.
- In addition, the government has established a clear procedure for the distribution of shares of one-time assistance in case of refusal of one of the recipients. It is also prohibited to refuse to receive assistance on behalf of minor children, persons with disabilities and persons with limited legal capacity.
According to Taras Melnychuk, this decision is aimed at providing social protection for the families of military personnel and policemen who died while performing their duties, and at eliminating gaps in the current legislation.
In addition, the decree enshrines the prohibition of refusing the appointment and receiving one-time assistance on behalf of minors, minor children of a deceased (deceased) person, as well as incapacitated persons and persons whose civil capacity is limited.
Earlier it was reported that the government decided that the military registration document in electronic form will now have a QR code, which will be valid for no more than a year.
