GUR fighters freed the Vovchan Aggregate Plant from Russian troops (video)
During a complex and brilliantly conducted operation, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) completely liberated the territory of the Vovchan aggregate plant and eliminated all Russians who were at the facility.
On Tuesday, September 24, at 2:40 p.m., the commander of the GUR special unit with the call sign “Timur” reported to the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyryl Budanov about the successful completion of the operation. Special groups “Stugna”, “Paragon”, “Yunger”, as well as units of RDK, BDK and “Terror” took part in it.
Fighters of the GUR MOU carried out a thorough cleaning of the factory buildings, which was accompanied by constant contact battles with the enemy in dense urban areas. In some cases, special forces had to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the Russian military.
The Russians turned the territory of the plant into their propaganda “fortress”, attracting the most experienced and motivated units to its defense. Among them were servicemen of the 45th Special Forces Brigade of the Russian Airborne Forces, stationed in Kubinka, Moscow Region.
During the operation, the Ukrainian scouts faced intense resistance, as the Russian side actively used artillery, kamikaze drones, guided aerial bombs (UABs) and heavy Solntsepok flamethrower systems. Despite this, the GUR units managed to destroy all enemy forces, capture prisoners and replenish the exchange fund.
After clearing all 30 buildings of the plant, its territory was handed over to the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This operation is another proof of the high professionalism and courage of Ukrainian special forces in the struggle for the liberation of Ukrainian land from the Russian army.
