Kravchenko decided to send almost 350 prosecutors with disabilities to the disciplinary commission

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko passed the decision to refer almost 350 prosecutors with the status of persons with disabilities to the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors (KDKP).
Kravchenko noted that the issue of prosecutors with disabilities has become the subject of wide public attention and has not yet been settled, despite the fact that nine months have passed. He emphasized that the law does not give him the authority to unilaterally dismiss prosecutors, even in cases of massive disability status.
“The dismissal of prosecutors, under the specified circumstances, takes place on the basis of the decision of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors (KDKP). Currently, there are 484 prosecutors with disabilities left in the prosecutor’s office: 41 people submitted applications for dismissal of their own free will. I satisfied them. Today I decided, within the limits of my authority, that all prosecutors with disabilities will be referred to the KDKP for consideration.” he emphasized.
At the same time, according to Kravchenko, 136 prosecutors will not be referred to the KDKP for consideration. These are persons who have:
- disability from childhood,
- serious irreversible health losses,
- oncological diseases,
- the status of war disabled.
Thus, 348 prosecutors will be referred to the disciplinary commission.
“I understand that among them there may be persons whose status, as a result of the inspection, will be confirmed. At the same time, established facts of dishonesty should not put a “cross” on the authority of all prosecutors who continue to faithfully perform their work. Restoring trust is a path that everyone must go through.” – emphasized the Prosecutor General.
We will remind you that the scandal surrounding the massive registration of disability status by prosecutors became public on October 16, 2024, when Yuriy Butusov, the editor-in-chief of the “Censor. No” publication, made public the investigation.
It stated that 49 prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi region received the status of disability, and, according to the journalist, the former head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise Tetiana Krupa and her son Oleksandr Krupa, who managed the local Pension Fund, may be involved in this.
