Day of Mourning Declared in Dnipro: Russian Attack Kills 18 People (Video)

On June 25, the Day of Mourning for the victims of the Russian attack on June 24, which killed 18 city residents, was announced in Dnipro. Mourning events are also taking place in Samara, where two more people died as a result of shelling. About this reported Serhiy Lysak, head of OVA.

It will be recalled that on June 24, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region. In Dnipro, as a result of shelling, a fire broke out, civil infrastructure and a train heading from Odesa were damaged. Explosions were also recorded in Samara. In total, 20 people died, 18 of them in the Dnipro. Almost 300 people were injured.
“We continue to eliminate the consequences of the Russian strikes. The final calculations have not yet been completed, but already the list of losses is simply huge.” – noted Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov.
According to him, as a result of shelling, 50 high-rise buildings were damaged, and significant destruction was recorded in the private sector. Almost 40 educational institutions were affected, including lyceums, gymnasiums, kindergartens, music schools and vocational schools. Eight medical facilities were also damaged: hospitals, dispensaries, and a dental polyclinic.
During the attack, three tram carriages were hit, a catenary support, electrical transport control rooms and workshops were damaged, and the roof of one of the depots was destroyed. The Kaidak pump-and-filter station, 16 district and residential boiler houses were also affected.
Filatov also reported on the damage to the Right Bank Department of Social Security, the Church of Peter and Paul, the organ hall, the Ice Arena, a gas station, a correctional colony, the buildings of a bread factory, one of the industrial enterprises, district administrations, and the state treasury.
“This is an unprecedented amount of destruction that the city has not seen in the entire time of a full-scale war.” – emphasized the mayor.
