Kudrytskyi was dismissed from the position of head of Ukrenergo: the decision of the supervisory board
The supervisory board of “Ukrenergo” voted to dismiss Volodymyr Kudrytskyi from the post of the company’s head. Four out of six council members supported this decision. The duties of the head of the company will be temporarily performed by a member of the board Oleksiy Brecht.
As informs Forbes, with reference to a source familiar with the results of the meeting, said the issue of Kudrytskyi’s dismissal was previously discussed at the Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters. According to the initial agreement, Kudrytskyi was to remain in office until August 2025.
The meeting of the supervisory board took place late in the evening, on September 2, at the initiative of Kudrytsky himself, who emphasized the sensitivity of the situation. According to the council’s decision, Kudrytskyi will remain in office until September 4, after which his duties will be transferred to Oleksiy Brecht.
The decision to release Kudrytskyi was made after a discussion at the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, which took place on August 30. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that protective structures around Ukrenergo substations were not completed, which led to interruptions in the supply of electricity after Russian shelling on August 26.
“Ukrenergo” is the key operator of the Ukrainian energy system, on whose work the energy security of the country depends. The company’s supervisory board consists of six members, three of whom are independent and three of whom represent the state. One seat on the board has been vacant since April 2022, after the Ministry of Energy terminated the mandate of independent supervisory board member Dejan Ostojic.
