Large-scale NATO exercises have begun in Europe

Large-scale NATO exercises called “Steadfast Dart 2025” started in Europe, the purpose of which is to check the combat readiness of the Joint Response Force for operational deployment in crisis situations. About this informs the command of the United Forces.

The maneuvers are taking place on the territory of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, involving about 10,000 troops. Troops from Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Great Britain are taking part.

During the exercises, 17 ships, more than 20 planes and helicopters, and 1,500 pieces of combat equipment are used, including tanks, salvo fire systems, self-propelled artillery, armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles.

The exercise was the first large-scale test for the ARF’s rapid response force, established last year. The main goal is to work out operational deployment procedures and ensure coordinated actions between allied armies and host countries. The training scenario simulates a conflict with an enemy that has a commensurate military potential.

The UK is playing a key role, ensuring the transport of 730 pieces of equipment by air, sea and land. UK Deputy Defense Minister Luke Pollard stressed that these exercises are a confirmation of his country’s commitment to strengthening the Alliance’s defense capabilities.
