Last year, Ukrainians ate ice cream worth over 13 billion hryvnias: YouControl

In 2024, Ukrainians spent more than 13 billion hryvnias on ice cream, and 98% of this income is concentrated in the hands of fifteen leading companies, which indicates an extreme concentration of the market. About this it is said in the report of the analytical platform YouControl.
Analysts have studied the main financial indicators of the leading market players for 2022-2024. In 2024, the annual revenue of companies that submitted financial statements reached UAH 13.3 billion — 21% more than the year before (10.5 billion UAH), and 44% more than in 2022 (7.5 billion UAH). This indicates the stability and potential of the industry.
Among companies reporting for 2024, the top 15 generated 98% of total revenue. Of the 104 enterprises in the sample, 53 submitted financial statements, of which 40 showed positive results, and 13 showed zero revenue.
JSC “RUD” received the largest revenue — UAH 3.4 billion, which is 26% of total revenue. The second place was the manufacturer “LASUNKA” with a result of UAH 2.35 billion. One of its beneficiaries, Vadym Pischansky, is also involved in two more companies from the top 15 — FIRMA LASKA (1 billion UAH) and “HALYCHINA LASUNKA” (447.8 million UAH). The third place was taken by “HLADOPROM ICE CREAM FACTORY” with a revenue of UAH 2.28 billion. The companies “TRY VEDMEDI” (1.7 billion UAH) and “FORTUNA-PLAS” (640 million UAH) also entered the top five.
They are followed by MOSAIC (UAH 320 million), ICE-FOODS (UAH 240 million), which is associated with BASTION-FOODS (UAH 163 million), POLTAVAHOLOD (UAH 156.6 million), TB MUSKETER AND K (UAH 108.4 million), LA GELATERIA (UAH 41 million) and SPACEFOOD UA (UAE 37 million UAH).
The study also revealed the presence of foreign capital in the ownership of 18 companies from 10 countries, including Italy, the USA, Cyprus and Poland. In total, 220 ice cream manufacturers work in Ukraine according to KVED 10.52, of which 116 are sole proprietorships, the rest are legal entities.
The largest number of FOPs are registered in Kyiv (17), as well as in Kyiv, Odesa, and Ternopil regions. Among legal entities, registration is most common in Kyiv (25 companies), as well as in Dnipropetrovsk (11) and Odesa (10) regions. In addition, 13 companies are associated with ten corporate groups, some of which include two companies from the list of leaders.
