Lavrov and Ushakov fly to Saudi Arabia for talks with the United States

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, and the assistant to the Russian president, Yuriy Ushakov, will fly to the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, where they will hold a meeting with representatives of the United States on Tuesday. This was stated by Putin’s press secretary Dmytro Peskov, rosZMI reports.

“Lavrov and Ushakov will fly to Riyadh on the instructions of Putin, on Tuesday they will hold a meeting with representatives of the USA”, – said Peskov.

According to him, the meeting will discuss possible negotiations regarding Ukraine, the organization of a meeting of the presidents and “restoration of the entire complex of Russian-American relations.” He added that Saudi Arabia was chosen for contacts between Russia and the US “because it suits both sides.”

It will be recalled that earlier Donald Trump announced that officials from Russia and the United States will meet in Saudi Arabia for negotiations on the war. According to him, Ukraine will also be part of the meeting.
