NATO-Ukraine Council meeting to take place in Brussels on 17 October

A meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council is scheduled for October 17, which is a key platform for Kyiv’s cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance. About this informs “European Truth” edition, referring to the official schedule of the NATO ministerial meeting.
The meeting of the Council will take place within the framework of the meeting of defense ministers of NATO member countries and will take place in the format of a working dinner. However, as of this moment, it remains unknown at what level Ukraine will be represented at this meeting, that is, whether a representative at the level of the Minister of Defense or another high-ranking official will be present.
The last time the Ukraine-NATO Council held a meeting was in August 2024, when key issues of security cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance were discussed.
It should be noted that an important meeting of defense ministers of NATO member countries is also taking place this week, at which it is planned to review the Alliance’s strategic course towards Russia due to the growing threats from the Kremlin.
We will remind that the Ukraine-NATO Council was created by the decision of the Vilnius Summit of the North Atlantic Alliance in July 2023. This new format became a tool for deepening cooperation between Kyiv and NATO, aimed at improving the effectiveness of cooperation in the context of the worsening security situation in the region. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes that this format will allow strengthening coordination and cooperation in the military sphere, which is of crucial importance for the country’s defense capability.
