Law enforcement officers detained the head of KRAIL: media

On December 18, law enforcement officers of the State Bureau of Investigation together with the Prosecutor General’s Office detained Chairman of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) Ivan Rudohy.

He is suspected of aiding the representatives of the aggressor state. During the search of the head of KRAIL, a significant amount of a substance similar to narcotics was found.

In parallel, employees of the Bureau of Economic Security conduct searches of other members of the Commission. Investigative actions are related to corruption violations, including keeping a license for a company of Russian origin, despite documents from the Security Service of Ukraine demanding its cancellation.

We will remind you that in April of this year, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading draft law No. 9256-d, which provides for the liquidation of KRAIL and strengthening of state control over the gambling business. In December, the Parliament finally approved the document according to which the Commission should be liquidated by April 1, 2025.
