Khmelnytsky City Council deputy Baranska has $1.5 million in assets

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) detained Khmelnytskyi City Council member Svitlana Baranska on suspicion of illegal enrichment in the amount of $1.5 million. About this reported in the press service of the DBR.

As part of the criminal proceedings, the law enforcement officers conducted searches in the offices and at the place of residence of the deputy. During the searches, more than 1 million 491 thousand US dollars, 30 thousand euros and 500 thousand hryvnias were seized. These funds were not included in Baranska’s annual declaration, which is a violation of the legislation for persons authorized to perform the functions of local self-government.

The deputy was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the issue of notifying her of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved.

Investigative actions are ongoing, and the pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the DBI, with the operational support of the territorial administration of the DBI in Khmelnytskyi.

We will remind you that earlier the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv took the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center of Medical and Social Expertise into custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 500 million hryvnias. The head of MSEK and her son, who headed the regional administration of the pension fund, were accused of illegal enrichment for millions of dollars.
