Macron opposed achieving peace in Ukraine at any cost

The President of France believes that peace in Ukraine “cannot be concluded at any price and under the dictates of Russia” and it cannot mean the capitulation of Ukraine. He stated this in an address to the nation on March 5, informs The World.
“We must continue to help the Ukrainians to resist until they can agree with Russia on a lasting peace for themselves and for all of us. That is why the path to peace cannot include giving up Ukraine, quite the opposite. Peace cannot be achieved at any price and under the dictates of Russia. Peace cannot be the capitulation of Ukraine. It cannot be its disintegration.”, – emphasized Macron.
Macron reminded that the Russian aggression against Ukraine began back in 2014, and the Minsk agreements were signed in 2015, which ultimately did not yield results due to violations by Moscow.
“Today, we can no longer take Russia at its word. Ukraine has the right to peace and security for itself, and this is in our interests and the security interests of the European continent. This is exactly what we are working on with our British, German and several other European friends.”, – emphasized the French president.
He also mentioned the United States’ termination of military aid to Ukraine and the termination of the exchange of intelligence data between Kyiv and Washington.
“I want to believe that the United States will remain on our side. But we have to be ready if it is not.”, – emphasized Macron.
