In Ukraine, the construction of more than 139 underground schools and several dozen institutions of professional and technical education is underway. About this during the briefing reported Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Nadiya Kuzmychova.
According to the official, 79 such facilities are currently under active construction, and up to ten of them are planned to be commissioned by the end of the year. All these projects are implemented in the front-line and border regions, which suffer from shelling and hits.
“All these constructions are carried out in the front-line and border regions, where there are shelling and hits. But we expect the completion of the construction of absolutely all objects by September 1, 2025. Because from January 2024 we are entering a new cycle. We are allocating more money to new facilities”, – added the official.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that since 2022, the number of objects of the fund of protective structures in Ukraine has tripled and now amounts to more than 62,000 shelters. The government is also working on their modernization according to the so-called “Finnish model”.
