More than 50 thousand Ukrainians joined the “eBook” program and receive 908 hryvnias each

From January 3, 2025, 18-year-old Ukrainians who registered in the “eKnyga” program began receiving payments in the amount of 908 hryvnias. About this reported Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine. This initiative is aimed at developing reading culture and supporting Ukrainian book publishing.
“Over 50,000 eighteen-year-old Ukrainians applied for participation in the eBook program.” Today, the first applicants received payments in the amount of 908 hryvnias. These funds can be used to purchase paper, electronic or audio books in the Ukrainian language.” – the message says.
To participate in the program, you need to use the “Action” application, where the “eBook” service is available. Users open a special virtual bank card, submit an application, and after its approval, funds are credited to the account. It is necessary to use the allocated amount within three months.
The money can be spent on the purchase of paper, electronic or audio books in the Ukrainian language. Payment is possible in a non-cash way: contactless through a phone with NFC or by card details on the websites of bookstores participating in the program.
The “eBook” program was launched by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 3, 2024. It is implemented by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ukrainian Book Institute. The project is financed from the state budget and aims to popularize Ukrainian books and support the publishing industry.
As noted by the Ministry of Culture, “eBook” is an important step for the development of the cultural sphere and reading activity in Ukraine, and also contributes to the preservation of national identity through literature.
