In Ukraine, the western border is being renovated: new modular buildings and improved infrastructure

On the western border, 33 modern modular buildings have been installed, equipped with furniture, climate control systems and connected to all necessary communications.

About this informs Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine:

As part of the cooperation of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure and the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine with the USAID project “Economic Support of Ukraine”, work is ongoing on the modernization of the most priority checkpoints on the western border”.

The Ministry notes that the replacement and connection of 33 modular structures at four checkpoints has already been completed. We are talking about premises that will be used by employees of the State Customs and Border Services for their work.

10 modular structures have been installed at checkpoints in the Volyn region. Also, respectively, 10 and 11 modular structures were installed at two checkpoints in Zakarpattia region on the border with Slovakia and Hungary.

Two sanitary modules have been installed in the Chernivtsi region. Each module is fully furnished, equipped with heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as connected to utilities – electricity, water and the Internet.

At four border crossing points, repair of damaged road surface, storm drains and canopies at border crossing points, painting of rail fences and metal fences, replacement of traffic lanes, markings and road signs, replacement of lighting systems with the aim of increasing the level of safety and security have been started.
