Today, December 25, Kharkiv experienced another massive rocket attack. Around 6:00 a.m., the city was rocked by a series of powerful explosions, more than ten of them. A large-scale fire caused by rocket strikes rose above the city.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported, that as of 7:00 a.m. it is known about three victims in the Saltiv district, two of them are in serious condition, doctors are providing them with the necessary assistance. There is also a fall in the Kyiv region – there is a fire at the place of arrival, the glazing of the surrounding buildings is damaged.
Rescuers and emergency services are currently working at the affected areas, trying to eliminate the consequences of the attacks. Information about the scale of destruction, the number of injured and dead may change.
The city is preparing for new challenges, because the threat of further shelling remains high. Local authorities urge citizens to stay in shelters and not to ignore alarm signals.
Rocket attacks hit not only Kharkiv, but also other settlements of Ukraine, causing significant destruction. As reported by Ukrenergo, as a result of the massive Russian attack, preventive measures were introduced in the country – hourly electricity shutdown schedules due to the need to stabilize the energy system after damage to critical infrastructure.
It is currently unknown when these restrictions will be lifted, as experts continue to work to assess and eliminate the consequences of the impacts.
According to Igor Terekhov, as of 8:30 a.m., it is known that rockets also landed in the private sector of Nemyshlyanskyi and Osnovyanskyi districts, which caused fires and damaged the glazing of the surrounding buildings.
