From January 1, pharmacies will begin to be checked again in Ukraine
From January 1, 2025, planned inspections of pharmacies, in particular those operating on the territory of medical institutions, will resume in Ukraine. About this reported Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.
“Until now, we had a moratorium on inspections. But the government made a decision, and from January 1, 2025, planned inspections of pharmacies by the State Medical Service will resume. Previously, we responded to citizens’ complaints about violations in certain pharmacies. And the State Medical Service had the right to inspect a pharmacy institution in agreement with the Ministry of Health. And from January 1, pharmacies will be regularly checked, and primarily scheduled checks will be carried out in pharmacies located in health care facilities”, – explained the minister.
Such pharmacies are also obliged to work within the framework of the “Affordable Medicines” program and ensure the availability of drugs, the cost of which is compensated by the state.
“In the event that a patient is refused a drug from the “Available Medicines” at a pharmacy at a hospital, he can contact the National Health Service hotline at 16-77. The National Health Service also forwards this information to the regulator – the State Medical Service“, Lyashko noted.
In cases where the hospital offers the patient to buy the necessary medicine on his own, the minister advised to contact the administration of the medical facility or file a complaint with the National Health Service.
