Musk announced the creation of a new party in the US and already has support from several businessmen
Elon Musk announced in the X social network about the creation of a new political force in the USA called the “American Party”, which should become an alternative to the traditional two-party system. This initiative has already sparked interest in the business environment — in particular, billionaire Mark Cuban and investor Anthony Scaramucci have publicly supported Musk.
“By a margin of two to one, you want a new political party – and you will get it!” Musk wrote.
Cuban reacted to Musk’s post with approving emojis and noted that he cooperates with the Center for Competitive Democracy and is ready to help get the party on the ballot. Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director during Donald Trump’s presidency in 2017, offered to meet with Musk to discuss next steps. Both have previously expressed their support for Kamala Harris.
According to Musk, the “American Party” plans to win 2-3 seats in the Senate and 8-10 districts in the House of Representatives. At the same time, it is currently unknown whether the party is officially registered: mentions of it in the database of the Federal Election Commission contain conflicting information and are placed next to humorous names such as “DOGE Party” or “American Meme Party”.
It will be recalled that on July 4, Elon Musk conducted a survey on his page in the X social network, asking users whether Americans seek “independence from the two-party system” and whether it is appropriate to create an American party. In the vote, 65.4% of respondents supported the idea, 34.6% spoke against it.
