Nadiya Savchenko denied information about her alleged death

Former People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadiya Savchenko made public video appeal, refuting the information about her alleged death spread by Russian propagandists. The video was published on her Telegram page amid rumors of an airstrike on the positions of the Ukrainian defense forces.

In the footage, Savchenko stands against the background of a blooming viburnum, and emphasizes that she is safe. In the appeal, she says:

“I am alive and will live to the detriment of all enemies, just as our Ukraine lives. Hope does not die.”

We will remind, earlier Russian military Telegram channels, in particular the so-called “military commander” Volodymyr Romanov, spread the news that on May 11, an airstrike on the headquarters of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly led to the death of Savchenko, who allegedly commanded the company of the 131st battalion of this brigade.

After that, rumors spread actively in Russian social networks. In response, Nadiya Savchenko’s sister, Vira Savchenko, sharply commented on these messages, calling them fake:

“Despite the fact that the Katsaps have nowhere to hide in Ukrainian land, they are still burying our Hope. There is and will be hope! Calm down, poor people!”.

In the spring of 2022, Nadia Savchenko and her sister were called up for military service. She is a reserve senior lieutenant and, according to the order of the commander dated February 24, 2022, she was assigned to the command of one of the military units.

Savchenko’s name also appears in the materials of the criminal case regarding the suspicion of forgery of COVID-certificates, however, after the start of the full-scale invasion, she participated in military service, continuing to be active in the ranks of the defense.
