One in four servicemen supports the idea of inclusive dry rations: survey
The Army+ app has completed a survey on the quality of dry rations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including daily field food packages No. 15 (regular and enhanced heated). Over two weeks, 9,128 servicemen took part in the survey. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalisation Kateryna Chernogorenko noted that feedback from the military will help improve the food and make it more adapted to the needs of the soldiers. The Army+ app allowed us to quickly collect and analyse data to improve the quality of the food packages.
According to the survey, more than half of the participants highly appreciated the dry rations: 51% gave them a score of five or four on a five-point scale. At the same time, about 25% of respondents pointed out the need for inclusive food that would take into account religious, ethical and medical characteristics.
Deputy Minister of Defence Dmytro Klymenkov stressed that the results demonstrate the importance of creating solutions that meet the needs of every serviceman, and the Ministry of Defence will actively work on this.
The Ministry of Defence and the State Logistics Operator are already working on the technical specifications for the new food kits, including halal, vegetarian and kosher rations that will meet the religious, medical and ethical requirements of the military.
In addition, the new kits will include traditional Ukrainian dishes that are in demand among the military, such as borsch, porridge and meat dishes. The range of soups, vegetable dishes and desserts will also increase.
Based on the results obtained, the technical requirements will be updated and procurement planned for 2025, which will improve the quality of food in the Armed Forces and take into account the diverse needs of the personnel.
In September, the Ministry of Defence launched the Army+ app, which was announced in February. It is designed to provide the military with access to the necessary documents and services, simplifying and digitalising military processes.
