Naftogaz wins $1.37 billion from Gazprom in arbitration

The international arbitration tribunal in Switzerland ordered Gazprom to pay $1.37 billion to Naftogaz of Ukraine. About this reported Serhii Koretskyi, chairman of the company’s board.

According to him, since May 2022, Gazprom has stopped fulfilling contractual obligations according to the take or pay principle, in particular, it has not made payments. In September of the same year, Naftogaz filed a claim for arbitration, which the Russian side tried to block in the courts of the Russian Federation, but without success.

“We have a final decision: the tribunal from Sweden, Switzerland and Israel completely sided with Naftogaz. – noted Koretsky.

He added that the next task is to ensure the implementation of this decision.

We will remind, on June 17, “Naftogaz of Ukraine” announced changes in the composition of the board: two new members and a new director of operational efficiency were appointed. The Naftogaz Supervisory Board appointed Oksana Volynets and Elena Artazey to the company’s board.

Volynets will be responsible for the direction of legal and regulatory issues, and Artazey will head the direction of personnel management. As the press service notes, both newly appointed have many years of experience in the public and corporate sectors.

The director of operational efficiency in the field of procurement, Nadia Bigun, was also appointed separately. She previously held management positions at “Prozorro”, “Ukrposhta”, “Ukroboronprom” and the Ministry of Economy.
