New car market in Ukraine declined: September rating of leaders published

In September 2024, Ukrainians purchased 5,700 new cars, which is 30% less than in August of this year. Such a sharp decline is explained by high demand in August, which was caused by rumors about a possible increase in taxes on the first registration of cars. About this informs association “Ukravtoprom”.
Analysts note that compared to September of last year, the demand for new cars remained almost unchanged — growth was only 0.1%.
Among the brands dominating the market in September, the first place was taken by Toyota with 918 cars sold. The Renault brand took second place, selling 541 cars, which is 21% more than last year. Third place was taken by Skoda with 443 units sold, which is 5% less than last year. The top five also included BMW with 433 cars sold (-12%) and Volkswagen, which sold 336 units, which was the biggest decline among the leaders — by 48%.
Renault Duster became the bestseller in September again, with 504 registrations.
According to the results of nine months of 2024, Ukrainians purchased 53 thousand new passenger cars, which is 21% more compared to the same period of 2023.
