New educational series for cyber data protection are available in Diya

Modern wars have long gone beyond physical confrontation on the battlefield, actively transferring the struggle to the digital space. Constant cyber-attacks demand from every Internet user not only caution, but also clear knowledge about how to protect their personal data.

In order to increase the level of digital security, “Diya.Osvita” together with the USAID Cybersecurity project launched a large-scale information campaign aimed at increasing the awareness of Ukrainians in the field of cyber hygiene. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

This campaign involves the creation and distribution of a series of educational videos aimed at helping users of various age groups, from children to the elderly, learn the basic principles of cyber security and protection against cybercriminals.

The main educational video materials of the campaign

“Cyberhygiene for youth” – a series that explains the basic rules of Internet security using real examples of cyberattacks. The video emphasizes the importance of regular software updates, the use of antiviruses and two-factor authentication, which can protect against unwanted access to personal data.

“Basic knowledge of cyber hygiene” – video lessons designed specifically for older people. They teach you how to secure your devices, protect your e-mail, bank cards, and perform online transactions without the risk of being scammed.

“How to protect yourself from phishing” – a series dedicated to one of the most common types of cyberattacks in the world. Viewers will get practical advice on how to recognize fake sites and fake messages to avoid losing personal data.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes that the main goal of this initiative is to increase the level of digital literacy of Ukrainians and their ability to effectively resist cyber threats in the rapidly changing digital world.

This became especially relevant after a series of cyber incidents, in particular, in August, a mass mailing of malicious e-mails disguised as official messages from the State Tax Service of Ukraine (SST) was recorded. The emails contained links to download files containing malware. When such files were opened, malicious code was activated on the user’s computer, giving attackers access to their personal data and allowing them to control the device without being noticed.
