Officials of the Dnipro City Council were notified of suspicion of embezzlement of UAH 8.5 million
The head of one of the departments of the Dnipro City Council and his deputy were charged with embezzlement. According to the investigation, officials seized more than UAH 8.5 million of budget funds allocated for the implementation of the city’s territorial defense program.

“Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region, the head of one of the departments of the Dnipro City Council and his deputy were notified of the suspicion of embezzlement of property (Part 4, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).” – the message says.
The investigation established that the officials organized a scheme to inflate prices for goods and services purchased for the needs of the Dnipro military units. This led to significant losses for the city budget.
According to the investigation, city council officials organized a scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for the implementation of the program to promote the territorial defense of the Dnipro. By their illegal actions, the suspects caused losses to the local budget of more than 8.5 million hryvnias.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted six authorized searches, seized documents, mobile phones and computer equipment. The question of choosing preventive measures for them is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the detectives of the Security Service of Ukraine, operational support is provided by the employees of the Ukrainian SSR in the Dnipropetrovsk region of the DSR of the NP of Ukraine.
