People’s Deputy Bezugla attended a rally against the law on NABU and SAPO, which she supported in parliament

People’s deputy Maryana Bezugla, who supported the draft law №12414 regarding NABU and SAP, which caused public indignation, appeared at a rally organized against this very draft law. Protesters met her with shouts: “Shame!” and “Go away!”.

Bezugla came to the rally demanding the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

In a comment to journalists, answering questions about the high-profile draft law, the deputy stated:

“When law enforcement agencies are competitive, and cases are simply handed over, it doesn’t work like that. The SBU should be counter-intelligence, one investigative agency is the State Security Service, and one law enforcement agency is the National Police.”

Protesters surrounded Bezugla and continued to shout slogans against her. In response, the deputy changed her position and wrote a new demand on a graphic tablet — to establish clear terms of service for the military and to reform the Armed Forces.

People’s deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak commented situation, noting that Bezugla actively prevented deputies from blocking the tribune and openly demonstrated pride in voting for the law, which effectively eliminates the independence of NABU and SAP.

Earlier, Bezugla had already stated that she was “honored” to support Law No. 4555 (later voted under No. 12414), while criticizing the state of reforms in Ukraine:

“We live on maidans, dreams and promises. We won’t have Singapore, and we won’t have Poland either. It’s a shame.”
