Poland accuses Zelenskyy of trying to drag the country into a war with Russia

By calling for the interception of Russian missiles over the territory of Ukraine from Poland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is involving the Polish side in the war. This was stated by Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski on Polish radio ZET.

Let’s be honest: what does Zelensky want? He wants Poland to shoot down missiles over Ukraine, which means he wants Poland to go to war, which means he wants Poland to fight Russia,” Gawkowski said.

He stressed that Poland should help Ukraine maintain its independence, but Polish politicians should not risk peace in the country by leading it to a direct confrontation with Russia.

The representative of the Law and Justice party also said that Ukraine ‘ignores the scale of assistance provided by Poland and does not realise what the situation would be like without Warsaw’s support, so it is acting unfairly towards Poland.’

Poland is a great friend of Ukraine, a logistics hub. It seemed to me that in such situations, you need to say ‘thank you’ to someone, not demand it,’ Gawkowski added.

Earlier, Zelensky called on Poland to shoot down Russian missiles approaching the Polish border while they are still in Ukrainian airspace. Zelenskyy also said that Poland had not handed over MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, despite previous agreements.
