Poland handed over propagandist Molchanov, who worked for the Russian Federation, to Ukraine

For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, at the request of the SBU, Poland handed over to Ukraine the propagandist Molchanov, who worked against our state in the information sphere. About this informs SBU press office.

“At first he was detained in Poland, and now he is in one of the Kyiv pre-trial detention centers. The figure in the case is a “political expert” from the media pool of Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of high treason.

According to the case file, the attacker was recruited and worked simultaneously for two special services of the aggressor country: the FSB and the foreign intelligence of the Russian Federation. At the behest of the occupiers, he engaged in discrediting Ukraine on the international stage and worked to destabilize the internal situation in the partner countries of our state.” – says the message.

In 2022, he left the territory of Ukraine and moved to Russia, where he later became one of the key figures in the promotion of the Kremlin media initiatives “Druhaya Ukraina” and “Voice of Europe”. In addition, he regularly appeared on the talk show of Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov. In 2023 alone, he went live on these programs 35 times, where he publicly supported Russia’s armed aggression and spread misinformation about the situation in Ukraine.

Molchanov openly called for the preparation of sabotage acts on the territory of Ukraine. For this, he used his own Telegram channel, through which he systematically distributed links to chatbots of the Russian special services, which are engaged in collecting data on the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
