Polish publication publishes Trump’s proposals to Putin on ending the war in Ukraine

On August 7, Polish media Onet stated, which became aware of the content of the “beneficial” offer regarding Ukraine, which the American side handed over to Vladimir Putin during negotiations with the special envoy of the US president, Steve Witkoff, in Moscow.
Although the publication does not reveal the source of the information, it insists that the initiative was agreed with European states.
“We learned that Moscow received a very favorable offer from the Trump administration,” – says the message.
According to Onet, the key points of the American package include:
- a cease-fire in Ukraine, without concluding a full-fledged peace;
- the actual recognition of territories captured by Russia by postponing their status for 49 or 99 years;
- the cancellation of most of the sanctions against the Russian Federation and a gradual return to energy cooperation, in particular the import of Russian energy carriers.
At the same time, the proposed terms do not include a ban on NATO expansion, a position that Moscow has traditionally insisted on. Russia also did not receive assurances about the termination of military aid to Ukraine, but, as it is claimed, this moment was nevertheless acceptable to the Kremlin.
The possibility of reaching agreements is confirmed in the statements of several key European leaders. In particular, on July 30, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that “there is a high probability and many signs that indicate that the Russian-Ukrainian war can at least be suspended in the near future.”
The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, in his turn, expressed the opinion that “if the price for the survival of Ukraine is that Russia occupies part of the country, then this is an acceptable price.”
