In Kharkiv, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into possible illegal actions of military personnel during the verification of documents of civilians. Specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Eastern region reported, that the incident related to the alleged hooliganism of the officials of the Slobidsky District Territorial Picking Center (TCC) is under close investigation.
Military personnel are accused of using physical force during a traffic stop and document check, which led to bodily harm to one of the citizens. According to the prosecutor’s office, the circle of persons involved in this case has already been established, and the first investigative actions have been carried out: video recordings of the incident, as well as route documents in the premises of Slobid TCC, have been seized.
The case is being considered under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), which provides for possible punishment in the form of a fine, probation or restriction of freedom for up to 5 years.
