In Ukraine, the deadline for the urgent registration and exchange of a citizen’s passport has been reduced. This decision was made during the government meeting on October 15.
In accordance with message representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, now it will be possible to get a passport faster – the deadline for producing the document has been shortened by three days. If earlier urgent registration took 10 working days, now this process will last only 7 days.
In addition, changes were made to the “List of administrative services in the field of migration and their costs”. In particular, a new administrative service has been introduced that allows you to issue or exchange a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a foreign passport at the same time, for example, in case of loss or theft. The cost of such services will depend on the urgency of execution.
These changes also affect urgent passport exchange (including lost or stolen ones) and do not apply to cases when a passport is issued for the first time.
It is also worth noting that for young men aged 16 to 25 who will receive a passport for the first time, automatic entry into the “Oberig” register is foreseen, which will take place by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
At the same time, since October 7, the prices for passport and migration services provided by Dokument State Enterprise have changed. Now issuing a passport costs UAH 650, and exchanging a driver’s license costs UAH 950.
