The communal enterprise “Central Park” of Kharkov announced a tender for the purchase of toilet paper and paper towels for the total amount of UAH 1.4 million. This information made public in the “ProZorro” public procurement system, which was reported by the Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center.
In particular, it is planned to purchase 20,000 rolls of Jumbo toilet paper and 30,000 packs of paper hand towels (at least 160 sheets in each pack) for the needs of park visitors. The corresponding auction is scheduled for August 28.
It is interesting that in 2023, the park spent half as much money for the same amount of production — UAH 796.8 thousand. This park has had to make similar purchases only once: in February 2021, UAH 50,000 was spent on these needs.
According to the information provided by the Kharkiv Zelenbud KP, which is responsible for the maintenance of the city’s parks and green areas, during 2020-2024, it purchased toilet paper and paper towels for a total of UAH 542.5 thousand. For example, in 2024, UAH 344.5 thousand was spent on 8,500 rolls of Jumbo toilet paper and 4,500 packs of towels.
“It is difficult to estimate how many visitors are currently coming to the Central Park, especially considering that in May the official resources of the park urged to refrain from walking due to the security situation”, — noticed in HAC.
