Rada supports law to reduce emissions and achieve climate neutrality

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law aimed at achieving climate neutrality. This step is part of Ukraine’s global strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
According to the adopted law, the state undertook to gradually reduce emissions and take measures to ensure energy efficiency in various sectors of the economy. These efforts should contribute to the reduction of dependence on fossil fuels and the development of alternative energy sources.
The goal of this law is to achieve climate neutrality by 2060, which means that Ukraine plans to reach a level where the amount of greenhouse gas emissions will be equal to the amount that is absorbed by natural or technical means.
This law will also promote the introduction of new technologies and create conditions for the development of green energy, as well as provide for the attraction of foreign investments in this sector.
The adoption of the law is an important step for Ukraine in its aspiration to integrate into the global community in view of the challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability.
