Rubio announced new priorities of the US State Department

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced about new priorities for American diplomacy, focused on curbing mass migration, abandoning diversity policies, ending censorship and other practices that he believes weaken the United States.

“To advance our national interests, we will create a more innovative, flexible and focused State Department. This will require replacing certain priorities, reducing the emphasis on some issues and eliminating certain practices.”, – noted the US Secretary of State.

According to him, American diplomacy will no longer support measures that promote mass migration, but will focus on protecting borders, fighting illegal migration and returning illegal immigrants. In addition, the focus will be on encouraging performance and merit instead of promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility policies to avoid internal divisions.

Rubio also emphasized the importance of protecting free speech. The State Department will terminate any programs that may result in censorship or restriction of access to information. Separately, he mentioned the need for changes in climate policy, which, in his opinion, should not weaken the United States. At the same time, America will continue to support reasonable environmental protection, but diplomacy will be aimed at restoring the country’s energy dominance.

In conclusion, Rubio emphasized that the State Department’s new priorities are focused on the implementation of President Trump’s “prospective program”, which aims to strengthen the United States and improve foreign relations.
