Europe’s largest airline Ryanair plans to resume flights to Ukraine

The largest European airline Ryanair is preparing to resume flights to Ukraine. This became possible against the background of expectations that Donald Trump will be able to contribute to the end of the war with Russia. About this informs The Telegraph.

CEO of Ryanair, Michael O’Leary, said that the company plans to start flights within 4-6 weeks after the end of the conflict.

“I really hope that this will happen this year. Trump can quickly resolve the issue of Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine”, he noted.

O’Leary emphasized that infrastructure in Ukraine, including baggage systems, is already functioning, and cities are ready to resume air travel. At the same time, the restoration of railway traffic in Odesa may take longer due to significant destruction, and some transport hubs in the east and south of the country have been seriously affected.

The main condition for the resumption of flights is the cessation of hostilities, because the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will not allow flights into the conflict zone until it is certain that the missiles do not pose a threat to aircraft.

Ryanair plans to launch about 24 new routes from Kyiv and Lviv. For this, the company intends to divert planes from airports such as Stansted and Paris-Orly. Separate difficulties arise with the restoration of the airport in Kherson, which suffered significant damage during the fighting.
