Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles with cluster munitions

During the massive attack on November 28, Russia used Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions to strike the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. About this reported President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
The president emphasized that the cluster elements of these ammunitions significantly complicate the work of rescuers and energy workers in eliminating the consequences of shelling. He called it an act of “extremely vile escalation of terrorist tactics” on the part of Russia.
“We are constantly working with partners to have more power to defend, and timely delivery now and full implementation of agreements, particularly on air defense, is what is most needed.”, said the president.
Cluster munitions are a special type of weapon that consists of a container containing a large number of warheads of the same type. These elements are scattered in the air over a large area, affecting a much larger area compared to monoblock ammunition.
However, their danger is not limited to the moment of use: unexploded elements can remain in the ground for a long time, posing a serious threat to the civilian population even after the end of hostilities. Civilians, including children, suffer especially from such ammunition, which makes their use one of the most barbaric practices of modern warfare.
