Russia does not plan to participate in the second Peace Summit initiated by Ukraine: Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow does not plan to participate in the Peace Summit, even if it receives an official invitation. This is reported by rosZMI.
“I have explained many times that we are not going to participate in the Peace Summit, even if we receive an invitation,” – Lavrov stated.
According to him, Ukraine does not give up its demands for the restoration of territorial integrity within the 1991 borders and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops. The minister also commented on the statement of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who admitted that the return of the occupied territories by force is currently impossible. However, according to Lavrov, these words do not affect the position of Moscow, which sees no sense in participating in the Peace Summit.
“In October, meetings were held as part of the preparation of the second Peace Summit. We know that the organizers want to invite Russia, as we understand, to present us with some kind of ultimatum.” Lavrov noted.
Earlier, he stated that Moscow was not satisfied with the proposals made by the team of US President-elect Donald Trump. In particular, regarding the postponement of Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the placement of a peacekeeping contingent on its territory.
Lavrov named the conditions under which Russia is ready to end the war: the withdrawal of Ukraine from NATO, the recognition of the occupied territories as Russian, the cancellation of the decree prohibiting negotiations with Putin, as well as the elimination of laws that, according to Moscow, limit the Russian language, culture and religion.
