Russia expands gray zone in Sumy region, attacking administrative centers of border communities: ISW

American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported, that Russian troops advanced in the north of the Sumy region, in particular near several settlements. According to geolocation videos from June 7, Russian troops were successful northeast of Kindrativka, south of Oleksiivka, as well as east of Yablunivka and Lokni.
In addition, according to ISW, Russian military sources claim that the Russian paratroopers have entered the village of Sadky, and the marines have entered Khotini, which is the administrative center of the border community. At the same time, according to the same sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted a counterattack near Yunakivka, which is the center of another community, and also south of Kindrativka.
Russian sources also state that Russian troops were advancing south of Yablunivka, as well as southeast of Lokni and Yunakivka. However, ISW notes that they currently have no independent confirmation of this claim.
Units of the 51st and 83rd Airborne Forces, the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment, as well as the special unit of the Chechen battalion “Akhmat” operate in this direction.
