Rutte to visit NATO headquarters to coordinate assistance to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will pay a visit to Germany this week to visit the Alliance’s headquarters, where arms supplies and training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are coordinated. This was reported by the NATO press service.
On 14 October, Rutte will arrive in the Belgian city of Mons, where NATO’s central headquarters in Europe is located. There, he will meet with the Commander of NATO’s forces in Europe, Christopher Cavoli, and other senior officers.
Later, Rutte will meet with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Wiesbaden, Germany. Together, they will visit the headquarters of NATO’s Assistance and Training Command for Ukraine (NSATU).
After his recent meeting with the NATO Secretary General, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that Allies will be able to change the approach to protecting Ukrainian skies from Russian threats.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine needs at least 25 Patriot air defence systems to fully protect its airspace. According to him, Western allies have the technical capabilities to implement such protective measures, as was done for Israel. This is important to protect civilians from Russian missiles and drones.
