Salary for calculating pension in Ukraine increased by 2 thousand hryvnias per month

Pension Fund of Ukraine recorded a significant increase in the average salary, which is taken into account when calculating pensions. In June, this indicator increased by almost 2 thousand hryvnias.
According to official data, the average salary was 22,336.81 hryvnias, which is 1,981.41 hryvnias more than in May, when it was 20,355.40 hryvnias. Compared to June last year, the salary increased by 18.8% — then it was at the level of 18,806.63 hryvnias. Under the conditions of a decrease in inflation in June to 14.3%, real wage growth during the year is estimated at approximately 4.5%.
Since the beginning of 2025, there has also been a steady increase in the average salary used in calculating pensions. In January, it increased by 24.6% to 18,660.32 hryvnias. In February, this indicator was 18,589.38 hryvnias, which is 21.8% more compared to the previous period. In March, wages increased to 19,430.52 hryvnias — by 25.9%, in April — to 19,856.19 hryvnias (by 17.9%), and in May — to 20,355.40 hryvnias (increase by 18.5%).
As a reminder, in February 2025, the Pension Fund of Ukraine approved the average wage rate for 2024, which was used to index pensions from March 1. Compared to 2023, when the average salary was 14,308.46 hryvnias, the new indicator increased by 22.2%.
Previously, such information was updated every quarter, but after amendments to the legislation by the Verkhovna Rada, this data is now published monthly. This is due to the need for their use, in particular for the procedures of booking citizens from mobilization.
