SAPO opened criminal proceedings against Stefanishyna on suspicion of abuse of power: Honcharenko

The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office has started criminal proceedings regarding the possible illegal actions of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration — Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna. Information about it provided at NABU in response to the request of People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Oleksiy Honcharenko.
Stefanishyna is suspected of abuse of power or official position, which caused grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The proceedings were opened on June 11, 2025, and NABU detectives are engaged in its investigation.
The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to six years, as well as deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or carry out certain activities for a period of up to three years with an additional fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.
As a reminder, on June 27, Hromadske journalists published an investigation, according to which Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna uses an apartment belonging to her mother, Nadia Kravets, but this property is not included in the official’s declaration. After Hromadske journalist Maksym Kotsiubynskyi recorded the minister’s use of this apartment, which was not mentioned in her declaration, he was taken to the police station.
On June 10, the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft resolution on the dismissal of Olga Stefanishyna from the positions of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine. Prior to that, “Ukrainian Pravda” reported in its investigation that persons from the close circle of Stefanishyna received control of four large real estate properties through ARMA, including the Trade Union Building on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
