Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the course of a special operation neutralized agents of the Russian special services who, on the instructions of the FSB of the Russian Federation, committed the murder of a SBU colonel in Kyiv. The search for the murderers of the Ukrainian defender was personally supervised by the head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk. About this informs SBU press center.
“The agency combat group of the FSB of the Russian Federation was routed to Ukraine in advance and three days ago committed the murder of an employee of the SBU, our brother Colonel Ivan Voronich. As a result of clandestine reconnaissance, active counter-intelligence activities, an enemy lair was discovered. During the detention, they began to resist, there was fire contact, so the scoundrels were eliminated. I would like to remind you that the only prospect of the enemy on the territory of Ukraine is it’s death” – said Malyuk.
The head of the SBU expressed gratitude to the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine for their professionalism and support. He emphasized that the fight against the Russian special services is one of the main directions of the work of the Security Service. According to him, the SBU usually acts in advance and prevents 85% of crimes that the enemy tries to carry out in Ukraine.
The investigation established that two people – a man and a woman – were involved in the murder of the Ukrainian officer. Their supervisor instructed them to monitor the SBU employee, to find out his daily routine and travel routes. Subsequently, the attackers were given the coordinates of the hiding place where the pistol with a silencer was located.
“After murdering the colonel of the Security Service, the killers tried to “lie down”. But SBU and National Police officers established their whereabouts in the Kyiv region. A special operation was conducted this morning, during which members of the FSB intelligence and combat group of the Russian Federation began to resist, so they were eliminated.”, the message says.
We will remind, on July 10, there was a shooting in the Holosiiv district of Kyiv. Former intelligence officer Roman Chervinskyi said that the SBU colonel Ivan Voronych was killed. According to him, the man was killed by five shots at close range when he was leaving his apartment.
The case is qualified under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border, or a military serviceman.
