Scholz criticized Trump’s plan to link aid to Ukraine with access to valuable raw materials

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that US President Donald Trump’s proposal to link further military aid to Ukraine with access rights to its valuable raw materials does not meet Kyiv’s interests. About this informs N-TV.

Olaf Scholz condemned such an initiative by Trump, stressing that the use of Ukrainian resources to finance defense support is an extremely selfish approach.

“It is about Ukraine being able to finance its reconstruction. These are big tasks, given the enormous destruction. Therefore, the country’s resources should be directed to finance everything that will be needed after the war.” – emphasized the chancellor of Germany.

It will be recalled that on February 3, US President Donald Trump announced that he was looking for a way to exchange rare earth metals of Ukraine for American aid. He expressed his intention to conclude an agreement that would guarantee access to Ukrainian rare earth metals.
